Do you dream about getting to know most famous Inca trail that leads straight to Machu Picchu ruins? Do you want to visit ruins twice, just before the sunrise the first day, and next day again? Do you want to spend some time also on coffee plantation, taste some local dishes in high jungle and get to know the most precious places on the way between Aguas Calientes and Ollantaytambo?   • Bus Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu ruins one way: 12 USD both ways, 24 USD (in this option you have two entries to Machu Picchu in two following days, one way up and way down is included, second day not – there is an option to cover this part walking)
  • Entrance to Inca ruins in Moray as part of Boleto turistico.

What is Boleto turistico?

Boleto turistico is a ticket allowing to visit from few to over a dozen tourist attractions in the Cusco region depending for how many days it has been purchased. There are few versions with different prices, length of validity and number of attractions to visit.

General ticket

It is valid for 10 days. Cost 130 soles (around 43 – 45 USD). Included places: Saqsayhuaman, Quenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay, Qoricancha Museum, Regional Historical Museum, Art Museum, Pachaqutec monument, Tipon, Piquillacta, Ollantaytambo ruins, Pisac, Chinchero, Moray

One day ticket

It is valid for 1 day. Cost 70 soles (around 22 – 23 USD). Included places: Saqsayhuaman, Quenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay

Two days ticket

It is valid for 2 days. Cost 70 soles (around 22 – 23 USD). Included places: Qoricancha Museum, Regional Historical Museum, Art Museum, Pachaqutec monument, Tipon, Piquillacta

Or: Ollantaytambo ruins, Pisac, Chinchero, Moray

Trip starts in Ollantaytambo and ends in Cusco.

Day 1. Inca Trail – Machu Picchu

First day starts in Ollantaytambo where at 5:05 am or 6:10 am we will take a train to the place where trekking starts (at 104 km at 2100 m. above sea level). Trekking route in shorter version starts here and covers 4 hours trek up the hill to Incan ruins Wiñay Wayna (at 2700 m. above sea level). Next around 2 hours trek to Inti Punku gate (Sun Gate) which is an entrance to Machu Picchu. From this point you will have beautiful view on the ruins on the side.

Today’s trekking will be finished in Agua Calientes, walking down on 1500 Incas steps.

Trekking time: 7-8 hours
Maximum elevation: 3000 m above sea level
Accommodation in hostel in Agua Calientes

Day 2. Machu Picchu – Hydroelectrica – Hot springs (Santa Teresa) – Coffee plantation

In short version of the Inca Trail participants have unique chance to see ruins in the two following days and see all interesting points around. This day we will visit again Machu Picchu ruins to see them at the sunrise and to climb additional peak Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayana Pichu.

After visiting additional peak with unique views on Machu Picchu and central part of the ruins, we will go back around 11:30 – 12:00 pm to Aguas Calientes (those hours might change) where we can start trekking through high jungle to Hydroelectrica. At the point we will have private transport which will take us to hot springs and later to coffee plantation. We will spend here whole evening and later go to rest, because the next day is full of new attractions and adventures.

There is an option to shorten the trekking by 2.5 hours by taking train Aguas Calientes – Hydroelectrica. Train ticket is not included in the price.

Trekking time: 6-8 hours
Maximum elevation: 3100 m above sea level
Accommodation on the coffee plantation – basic standard

Day 3. Coffee plantation – Ollantaytambo – Moray – Cusco

Today we will start at 5:30 am with the breakfast at the coffee plantation. We will try out fresh roasted Arabica and afterwards we will go by car, through high jungle, to Abra Malaga (4320 m. above sea level). From here you will have beautiful view on Andes. After short break we will continue to town Ollantaytambo where we will walk local streets a little. Next point is archeological point Moray where we will have a chance to see part of beautiful Cordilera Urubamba.

On the way we stop by at the local house to see production of corn beer – chichi de jora. It is perfect opportunity to get know local customs and local people.

At the end we will visit pretty town Chinchero, where we will get familiar with production of different products made of sheep and alpaca wool.

If we have enough time we will also visit beautiful Salineras de Maras.

We will back back in Cusco around 7:00 – 8:00 pm

Maximum elevation: 4320 m above sea level
