Cantera de Añashuayco, Quebrada de Culebrillas.

Entrance to Cantera de Añashuayco – 5 sols
Between 7:50 and 8:15 am we will collect you from your hotel/hostel and take you to the quarry. Sillar stone is being mined there and this is main material that has been used to build the old sections of the city. Apart from learning the details of mining this stone, you will get a chance to see sculptures made out of it as well.
Our next stop of the tour is Quebrada de Culebrillas where you can see petroglyphs from before the Spanish invasion. After a 20 minute walk in the canyon you will get a chance to look for petroglyphs in the shape of llamas, the sun or snakes.
Around 11:30 am we start driving back to Arequipa. The tour will end around 12:00 – 12:30 pm in Arequipa.
Maximum elevation: 2500 m. above sea level
