Best Family Vacation!!!
We spent two incredible weeks in Peru: Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Pisac, Ollantayatambo, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Jungle coffee plantation, Moray, Maras/Salinas, Chinchero and I’m sure I forgot something! What an amazing country with rich history, beautiful people and stunning landscape! This was the most memorable trip we’ve ever taken! We are a family of four (2 girls ages 7 and 10). We like to travel, and we always do everything on our own. This was the first trip that we booked with a travel agency and looking back there is not a single thing that I would change except to stay longer!! I know that many of the things that we got to experience were possible because of this agency. If you like a trip that’s off the beaten path, then reach out to Daspe Travel! How about seeing the rainbow mountains (that have become so popular and crowded) and being there just with your family? I loved Machu Pichu, everyone does, and everyone is left speechless in this mystical place. It’s the mystery that surrounds this place that makes the interpretation of Machu Pichu even more fascinating! We even hiked to the top of Waynapichu with the girls (incredible views!) but there is something about the loud silence and peace that I experienced in the rainbow mountains. Imagine standing on top of a mountain at almost 5000m/16K ft surrounded by incredible beauty and silence. Just you, your family and mother nature… that’s possible because this agency tries very hard to find trails and parts of Andes that are not very touristy but still allow you to experience the same beauty.
We’ve been planning this for months and had many questions that Sylvia always addressed with the speed of light! You’ll have a detailed itinerary that spells out every possible detail for a given day so there are no surprises. She is also very good in being able to tailor the trip to your own interest, abilities, etc. What impressed me the most and what I think differentiates Daspe Travel from many other available travel agencies that they have this genuine desire and work very hard to make sure you truly have a great time and most importantly see the places you traveled so far to see and experience. To give you an example, towards the end of our trip, there was an announcement made that there will be a protest in Cusco. What this meant is that travel outside of Cusco on the day of the protest will be nearly impossible. For many travelers this indicated that their trip to Machu Pichu, for example, was in jeopardy. It was not the case for Sylvia and her groups. She worked tirelessly and late into the night to make sure her groups are out of Cusco the night before the protest. We happened to have a free day in Cusco on the day of the protest and what we witnessed were crowds of tourists whose trips were cancelled because they could not get out of town. Just imagine this was the day you had tickets for Macchu Picchu. That is certainly not something you want to worry about especially when traveling with children.
Working with Daspe Travel was seamless. They are very professional, always on time, always with a smile and full of energy! They took care of our lodging, we had a driver and a tour guide essentially every day. Willy was our tour guide for most of the trip. He is very knowledgeable, understanding, friendly, easy going, professional, and someone who would always go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Our girls can’t stop talking about this trip. They loved all the lamas and alpacas that we would come across on our hikes. We got to go to a school in Cusco where they were able to interact and spend some time with the children. This was an incredible, humbling and rewarding experience for all. We spent an entire day at a village making a meal and interacting with the locals. The list goes on and on. If you are contemplating whether to take your children to Peru or not, have a chat with Sylvia as she’ll be able to answer your questions with honesty and guide you when selecting your day trips. Everyone is different and you know your kids best but know it’s possible, enjoyable and the learnings are countless. Someone once said, money spent on travel is the only purchase that makes you richer. Isn’t that the truth? Peru is a beautiful country and we hope to come back one day as there is so much more to see! Thank you, Sylvia and the Daspe Travel Team!
