There are many roads to Machu Picchu. As part of this tour we will take you on a wholly unique route, a tour of the jungle combined with visit at the coffee plantation. This tour, catered to the coffee lover, includes many interesting places on the road from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu.
The first day will get your blood flowing as it starts with a bicycle trip! You will get a chance to ride downhill from high Andes to the jungle (from 4250 m. to 1700 m. above sea level). This is not only extreme adventure, but also unique opportunity to experience two completely different climates: the hot, humid high jungle and the cold, dry high Andes.
After a bicycle ride we will visit coffee plantation, where for few hours we will dive into coffee production details and even will also have a chance to make our own coffee.
After lunch at the coffee plantation, we will take a caffeine-fueled walk through the jungle or, if you would prefer, you can be even more adventurous and go rafting through the river of Urubamba. Rafting is an additional option that needs to be booked in advance, it is not included in the price of the tour.

Overnight stay at the coffee plantation (very basic conditions)
We start the day with a breakfast at 7:20 am. At around 8:00 am we drive in a private car for approx. 45 minutes to the start of the trail. Today´s trek will be divided into 2 parts. The first part takes us along the Inca trail, and will take approx. 3 -3.5 hours. After the first part of the trek you will have an opportunity to rest and relax in the thermal baths near the town of Santa Teresa. The second part will start in a place called Hydroelectrica and will lead us to the town of Aguas Calientes – the base from where we will explore Machu Picchu! This will take about 2.5 -3 hours of walking. In Aguas Calientes you will have the evening free to explore the town and rest – keeping in mind that we have a very early start on the next day!

Day 4 is dedicated to exploring the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu – Peru´s most famous site! Inside the ruins there is plenty to explore. You can hike one of the two small peaks, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you can even walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and/or Inca bridge.
You will start the tour to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes where you will take an early morning bus to the site´s entrance (with this option, an additional fee for the bus ticket is required) or you will walk there (around a 1-1.5 hour trek).
In the ruins you will have a 2 hour guided tour, giving you an overview of the history and culture of the Inca Empire, as well as the spiritual, political and educational importance of Machu Picchu. After the tour you will have time to explore the site on your own until about 5:00 pm (you also have the option to leave earlier if you wish). Inside the ruins there are multiple options available to you.
After visiting the ruins, you will make your own way back to Aguas Calientes via bus (with this option, an additional fee for the bus ticket is required) or on foot (around a 1 – 1.5 hour trek), from where you will take a train to Ollantaytambo. You will arrive in Ollantaytambo at around 8:20 pm. In Ollantaytambo, our bus will be waiting to transfer you back to Cusco, where you will arrive at around 10:30 pm.
