Ausangate and Rainbow Vinicunca with Red Valley

This trip is for people who:

A trip to the Ausangate region is around 4000 – 5000 m. above sea level. You need to remember that it is much colder here and temperatures during the night drops below zero. Between May and August temperatures can drop to -15 degrees. You need to be well prepared for trekking in this area.

What to take with you?

1. Small backpack for 2 or 3 days
2. Comfortable trousers (preferably trekking ones), fast drying
3. Long and short sleeve t-shirts – because of the strong sun it is better to have long sleeve
4. Warm polar layer, the best option is with hood
5. Jacket (softshell, for example) for cold evenings and nights or a  light down jacket
6. Night clothes – thermals are best
7. Hat – to save head, ears, neck from the sun
8. Cap, gloves and scarf
9. Swimming suit
10. Rain jacket
11. Sunscreen with high UV protection
12. Microfiber towel
13. Flip-flops
14. Comfortable shoes for trekking – preferably ankle stabilizing
15. Snacks- for relaxing time
16. Sun glasses – for the high mountains
17. Headlight + set of batteries
18. Medicines for altitude sickness or medications
19. Personal items (toiletries, camera, etc.)
