What are the costs to send package from Peru?
The price depends on weight, destination country and package type (standard, express). Information about actual prices can be found on Peruvian Postal Office web page SERPOST.
You can send packages as standard or express. For economic (standard) it takes around 3 – 4 weeks to reach Poland, express should arrive at the destination in 2 weeks.
You need to meet few requirements, which do not exist in Poland, in order to send package. It is important to be aware of them, so you do not meet any surprises on your way.
What responsibilities you have at the Peruvian post?
In order to send package to Peru you need to bring passport and passport copy. You will leave passport copy at the counter, leave your fingerprint and signature.
If you plan to send food, then, especially in Lima, you will be asked to provide receipts and their copies as well. Without it you won’t be allowed to pack those products. Nobody will listen your begging, crying. Rule is a rule and this won’t be changed.
But this is not over.
You need to arrive at the postal office with open package. If you have packed it before, you would need to open it in front of the postal office employee. He needs personally verify the package. If all the products inside are allowed, package will be sealed and prepared for delivery.
What is allowed?
Everything is listed on forbidden items list, so you need to verify it. For example you are not allowed to send oils, drinks, noting which is in fluid form. Coca leaves and all related products are forbidden as well.
