Entrance tickets cost to Machu Picchu ruins
Tickets to Machu Picchu ruins can be bought on the official web site MACHU PICCHU. It is 152 sols, around 48 – 50 USD (depending the exchange rate). If you want to climb additional peak Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, then the total price for ruins and peak will cost 200 sols, around 63 – 65 USD (depending the exchange rate).
Train ticket to Aguas Calientes (city close to Machu Picchu)
Train tickets from/to Aguas Calientes can be bought on the official web page PERU RAIL. Their prices are different depending the type and time. Some hours are more expensive, other cheaper. The cheapest ticket both ways Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo is 120 USD in those less attractive hours.
You can skip those costs by taking another route to Machu Picchu. Everything depends on the time you have available and what way you want to reach there. There are a lot of alternative options. The cheapest is bus, but if you decide on this one, you need to cover the same route both ways. The question is if you want to save and see the same views on both ways or maybe you can spend more and have train one way and bus the other. Thanks to that you will see more places and attractions. Bus ticket forms Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu ruins
Not everyone knows that you can drive from Aguas Calientes to the ruins. Many people think that walking is the only option and it is 1 -2 hours up hill. It is not true. You can take a bus to the ruins and save energy for sightseeing ruins. You need to be aware that this short 30 minutes trip cost 24 USD (both ways), but it is worth it. Thanks to that you will have more energy for ruins visit a trekking on nearby trails. Road itself from Aguas Calientes is not very interesting. There are not many places with nice views and it is quite hard. If you want to save some money you can buy bus ticket only one way (uphill) and walk back. If you have problems with knees, this is not good option for you.
Entrance ticket to the ruins in Cusco area, Boleto Turistico
In Cusco region you can find many interesting places. In order to see them, you need to buy special ticket that covers multiple places. Without it sightseeing is not possible, because you cannot buy single tickets. This is for ruins: Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Moray, Chinchero, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Tambomachay, Tipon, and Mauqallacta.
Actual Boletico Turistico prices can be found here. For 2017 it cost 130 sols, around 43 USD (10 days ticket). There is also an option to buy 2 days pass, but it does not cover all attractions. If you want to save some money, you need to plan ahead which places you want to visit.
Entrance ticket to Coricancha museum
If you are not a big fun of museums you can skip those or at least visit this one. Coricancha is an Inca’s Temple of Sun that was built with great momentum and precise. It is unique Inca’s cult place, which was covered for hundreds of years by Spanish architecture. Entrance ticket cos 10 sols, around 5 USD. It is not much and this museum is worth to visit.
Entrance ticket to salt mine in Salineras de Maras
This is another interesting place in Cusco region. Salt mine itself might not be great attraction for everyone, but trekking route leading to this place is beautiful, easy and nice. I highly recommend it, because entrance to salt mine is only 10 sols, around 3.5 USD.
