Did you know that the consumption of pork in Peru in 2013 reached 4.5 kilos per person per year. To compare, in other countries of South America the consumption reached 12 kilos. In the United States 30 kilos of pork were consumed per year on an average, and in Asia the consumption reached 70 kilos per annum. Because Peru does not occupy a leading place in the consumption of pork, in June 2013 Peruvian Agriculture Minister announced the new goal in that topic – to increase consumption of pork in Peru to 12 kilos per person annually.
But not about statistic I would like to talk today :-).During my travel in Andes I discovered some interesting things about pigs and their daily life and I would love to share with you some facts connected with this animals.
How looks like the life of Peruvian pigs in Andes and in Poland?
I must to admit that the life of peruvian pigs, at least at first glance, looks very interesting. For sure the conditions of the life of polish and Peruvian pigs differ a lot. I think that polish pigs can be jealous about the quality of the life of their friends from Peru.
Peruvian pigs have definitely better views than polish pigs. You can see on the pictures, how beautiful and unique landscapes pigs form Peru can admire every day.

For a change, polish pigs usually have to stay in a huge barns, far away from the nature. They can only dream about the landscapes available every day for their friends from Peru. Instead they have to admire the same views: four walls in which they are closed and other pigs around.
There is also another difference between the “heros” of this article. Peruvian pigs seem to have more freedom than their polish friends. They can do walks without owners and somehow always come back to home.

I also noticed that Peruvian pigs have more friends than polish one. For example they keep very good relations with the dogs.
